Charlotte is growing by leaps and bounds. At our most recent trip to the produce section she weighed in at a whopping 13.5 lbs, and she's well over 2 ft. Her hair has gone from mullet to mohawk and is getting blonder, though not much thicker. The Starlet is getting more adept at grabbing things, especially hair and glasses of water. She can sit up unassisted for about 10 seconds before toppling over, and can stand up and even take little steps if you hold her hands. Now that she's 5 months old, we feed her cereal twice a day and she's getting more and more of it to stay in her mouth. At her last appointment Dr. Bhumi told us it was time for some "tough love", so we started putting her to bed in her crib instead of the bassinet, and we also got her to pencil in a couple naps a day- whoo hoo!!!
Charlotte's biggest news since her last posting is the cross country trip to Dallas and then San Francisco that she made without fuss. We had a wonderful time staying with Aunt Mimi, who loved her so much she didn't get upset when Charlotte woke her up at 7am each morning on her spring break and pooped in her bed a couple of times. Charlotte got to meet her great grandmother as well as her great aunts, uncles and cousins. Being "on" all the time was a bit exhausting for the Starlet, but she hung in there with smiles and hugs for all her adoring fans.
Returning home was a bit anticlimactic, but we've been having fun going on walks in our new jogger stroller (much better for our brick streets) and swimming at the neighbor's pool. Michael got her a fantastic floatie that allows her to lean forward and kick her little legs, so she can sort of "swim" around the pool. She can even blow bubbles (her Daddy downplays this accomplishment claiming she's just exhaling, but since that is how you blow bubbles I'm going to count it).
Now that we've got some sort of schedule worked out, Charlotte is a much happier baby. She's definitely not a homebody and enjoys getting out of the house and around other people. Soon we're off to Kansas City to show the Starlet off to her Daddy's side of the family. Stay tuned for details :)

Just when I thought the Starlet couldn't get any cuter, you send these! What a beauty!! Keep the videos and pictures coming. My students and I love the updates.
xoxo,
Aunt Mimi
PS- I can't wait to see you this summer!
You definitely need to submit her pic in the red flower hat to a baby agent. She is just tooooo cute and so loaded with personality. Jared and Charlotte were just precious in the feeding video too. Her Daddy has a special touch with her! We look forward to the next blog installment and the next afternoon in St.Pete with Charlotte.
Love,
Kris and Dave
